(More customer reviews)I just don't get it. The authors put on the back cover and I quote "Stop hunting blindly through ordinary bilingual dictionaries!" And then the proceed to publish this book without an English Italian index in the back so you can't find anything! Want to know how to say "dark" in Italian. No problem, it's on page 224. But the only way you're going to find it is to leaf through the text. Ridiculous. Another major pet peeve, irregular accents in Italian are commonplace and these accents should be marked in all beginning and lower intermediate texts. The author can't be bothered to do that for you. So what do you do? Well, you just mispronounce the word or go get a dictionary and look up every word to insure you don't make a mistake. Without these 2 features, this book is crippled beyond salvation. Forget this one. If your looking for a vocabulary list type of text, "Mastering Italian Vocabulary A Thematic Approach" is also a flawed but much better choice. It has irregular stresses marked and at least has an Italian index at the back. Also has many more complete sentences as examples.
