Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)This book is really great for English speakers to practice Spanish and for Spanish speakers to practice English. The text are literally side by side*. The previous version allowed a person to look inside the book, but you could not tell how the pages are layed out which is very important to the success of this book. On pages where there is only a short paragraph, the English is above and spanish below. Some of the stories are easier to read than others. This book also includes a Spanish to English dictionary as well as an English to Spanish dictionary. Best of all, you can download some of the chapters from each book in audio format to hear the text spoken by native speakers. The audio introduction is in English then the story is read in Spanish.

Enjoy the tales of Mexico--in Spanish and in English!
In Stories from Mexico/Historias de Mexico, we've placed the Spanish and English stories side by side--lado a lado--so you can practice and improve your reading skills in your new language while enjoying the support of your native tongue. This way, you'll avoid the inconvenience of constantly having to look up unfamiliar words and expressions in a dictionary. Read as much as you can understand, and then look to the facing page for help if necessary. As you read, you can check your comprehension by comparing the two versions of the story. You'll also find a bilingual vocabulary list at the end of the book, so you'll have a handy reference for new words.
