Wardlaw presented the information so clear in this textbook. It was so easy to read and want to keep reading. The images used are extremely helpful in seeing how nutrition is essential in our day to day lives. I would recommend this book to everyone. No matter what you are studying, nutrition still affects us all.

Contemporary Nutrition: A Functional Approach is an alternate version of Wardlaw-Smith's Contemporary Nutrition, 8e. While Contemporary Nutrition: A Functional Approach shares the recognized strengths of the eighth edition, it offers a unique approach to the coverage of vitamins and minerals. It departs from a traditional presentation by instead organizing vitamins and minerals within the context of physiological functions and the health conditions they influence. The text will provide students who lack a strong science background the ideal balance of reliable nutrition information and practical consumer-oriented knowledge. With their friendly writing style, the authors act as the student's personal guide to dispelling common misconceptions and to gaining a solid foundation for making informed nutrition choices.

Contemporary Nutrition Review

I recently used this book for class and found it so easy to use, straight forward and accurate. The version I received also had an accompanying CD which may or may not come with this version from Amazon.
This book covers the basics from the different types of nutrients to in depth details of vitamins, minerals, weight loss, child nutrition, and exercise.
Be sure that your professor wants the 7th edition, otherwise buy the one they are requesting. My professor was working off of the 6th edition and said that the 7th was fine but it is not! They moved some things around so you are working on different page numbers and there is not alcohol section in this book like there is in the 6th edition.
Other than that, I love this book and it is one of the few that I am not reselling. Good for a student, or anyone trying to learn more about nutrition and becoming healthy, active and a proper weight.
