(More customer reviews)I had to buy this book for class but that doesn't mean I have to like it! The book is so insanely "busy" with pictures, and margin notes, and millions of different colors that it's virtually impossible for me to read. The book design and layout distracts me from learning the material that it's supposed to teach. Seriously, it does just about everything except light up and play "We're in the Money"!! (But maybe they're saving that for the next edition...which might also include a roll of duct tape to wrap around one's head to keep it from exploding as one tries to deal with this wretched text.)
It's possible that the author is trying to make accounting seem interesting and exciting (thus the race cars on the cover) but Sweet Zombie Jesus on a pogo stick, I can NOT sit down and read this book for more than 15 minutes at a time! So how am I ever going to learn about accounting? I'm thinking that I'll look for some nice, quiet book on accounting that doesn't seek to forever change the general opinion that accounting is about as exciting as watching paint dry, and learn from that instead.

I loathe this book.
