First Aid for the USMLE Step 1 2011 (First Aid USMLE) Review

First Aid for the USMLE Step 1 2011 (First Aid USMLE)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
As a current owner of First Aid 2010 (which was used as an accessory, alongside my basic sciences), I purchased the 2011 edition in order to stay up to date. However, this edition is virtualy one and the same as the 2010 edition, with the exception of the following:
- The text is in darker print, hence sharper on the eyes and more legible.
- A few of the dedicated NOTES pages have been collectively moved from the end of certain chapters to the very end of the book. As a result, some sections have fewer pages, or begin at different page numbers, as indicated by the index.
Other than that, it's still a great source for Step 1. Although this edition is cheaper than the 2010 (at the time of this writing at least), I suppose it's somewhat a releif that this edition remains unchanged. For the current 2010 edition owners, there's no update necessary, and nothing new to revise! I hope this offers some advice to anyone unsure as to whether they should update to this new edition. Thank you and God bless!

Review of Medical Microbiology and Immunology, Tenth Edition (LANGE Basic Science) Review

Review of Medical Microbiology and Immunology, Tenth Edition (LANGE Basic Science)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I received this book about a week ago to supplement my studying for my Medical Immunology and Microbiology course. This has been terrific at helping to clarify the lectures that my professors give. The only problem that I've found is that the Index is not always correct in terms of page numbers. If you are looking for something and can't find it on the pages listed in the index, look a page before or after (usually after) the page listed and you should find it. Besides that, I'm really glad that I purchased this book.

I purchased this text to help review for the FNP examination. It is an excellent resource--one that I frequently pull off the shelf to review. I would strongly recommend it for your medical library.
The only criticism I have is that the layoutof topics and headings is a bit awkward, but the index does allow for quick access to topics. Interesting read, and great resource.

Basic Concepts in Immunology: A Student's Survival Guide Review

Basic Concepts in Immunology: A Student's Survival Guide
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Basic Concepts in Immunology was extremely valuable in allowing me to learn the essentials of immunology in a very short period of time. The material was well organized with many figures to help with explanations. By its nature, the depth of information is limited but now I have a good foundation to learn more in greater depth from other sources. The index was not quite as comprehensive as I would have liked, but the book is short enough to easily find what you need. For immunology novices, I highly recommend reading this book before delving into a detailed textbook.
