(More customer reviews)I had to read the whole book for Philosophy class. We had to study and analyze this book for over 3 months. I have to say, it's a very interesting and informative book. After reading an extremely bias negative review from another reviewer, of the previous version of this book, I feel inclined to set the record straight.
The reviewer expressed his discontentment towards the way white males are depicted in the book. I thought the author is very fair and neutral in her writing, no where will you find her favoring women over men. She used a lot of examples and historical events to explain the ethical standpoint of various beliefs, religions and cultures. They are not her own opinions, but that of the ethical theories. She puts it in the perpective of the ethical theory under discussion to make you understand it from the inside and gives many great examples. The writing is easy to follow and not too insanely academic like many Philosophy writers.
I believe she gives updated examples and covers more contemporary issues, so get this version if you can.
