Color Atlas and Synopsis of Sexually Transmitted Diseases Review

Color Atlas and Synopsis of Sexually Transmitted Diseases

I believe this was a great book, it provided a lot of needed information on stds, the contraction of certain disease, etc. It was almost like a reference guide to me. It made me feel much better after i had gained all the needed knowledge. STD'S are one of those "quiet diseases", that nobody really talks about...However,you have to get your information from somewhere, right?....So why not get it from a reliable source with a huge layout of information.(even pictures) So, all in all i rate this book a 5, i doubt it could throughly describe std's any better then it did.

A Doody's Core Title!

5 STAR DOODY'S REVIEW!"Any practitioner, public health official, or educator in the field will find a use for this book. Patients may find it valuable for education purposes, as well....This second edition certainly has improved upon its predecessor. Its practical nature, clear photos, and comments following clinical cases provide practitioners with expert guidance as if the editor were physically present. Seldom does a book deliver what it promises; however, in this instance, it has and I feel it will become a standard for years."--Doody's Review Service

20 Common Probems in Dermatology Review

20 Common Probems in Dermatology

I am a medical student who is getting his first taste of Dermatology. Since our notes do not include color photographs, I decided to buy a book. At first, I was tempted by color atlases but then I found this book. Not only does it contain color photos, but each chapter is dedicated to a specific problem (e.g. warts) and covers such issues as treatment and prognosis. Color atlases are nice but, if you want more info as to what to actually do about the disease, you might want to give this book a try.

Ethics For Life Review

Ethics For Life
Average Reviews:

I had to read the whole book for Philosophy class. We had to study and analyze this book for over 3 months. I have to say, it's a very interesting and informative book. After reading an extremely bias negative review from another reviewer, of the previous version of this book, I feel inclined to set the record straight.
The reviewer expressed his discontentment towards the way white males are depicted in the book. I thought the author is very fair and neutral in her writing, no where will you find her favoring women over men. She used a lot of examples and historical events to explain the ethical standpoint of various beliefs, religions and cultures. They are not her own opinions, but that of the ethical theories. She puts it in the perpective of the ethical theory under discussion to make you understand it from the inside and gives many great examples. The writing is easy to follow and not too insanely academic like many Philosophy writers.
I believe she gives updated examples and covers more contemporary issues, so get this version if you can.
