CURRENT Medical Diagnosis and Treatment 2011 (LANGE CURRENT Series) Review

I wish I'd read the reviews of th 2010 edition before downloading the current Kindle edition. I have the 2008 paperback and love the book, but as a Kindle reviewer said in another review, it is nearly impossible to find what you are looking for in the Kindle edition. Using Kindle for PC the searches are fairly fast, but you only get a few words associated and a bunch of hits, so that you need to go through every hit to find what you are looking for, a BIG time waster. Even worse, I got this mostly so I could have a medical reference on my iPod Touch. Searching and finding what you want is cumbersome, poorly executed, and SLOOW.... It is hard to find even the Table of Contents on the Touch, and even the index is nearly useless. This is a great book in paperback, too bad I wasted $50 on the Kindle edition.

CURRENT Diagnosis and Treatment Pediatrics, Nineteenth Edition (LANGE CURRENT Series) Review

CURRENT Diagnosis and Treatment Pediatrics, Nineteenth Edition (LANGE CURRENT Series)

Everyone recommended big fat books of pediatrics, with lots of words and little answers. But this book is all you want and need to know about in your pediatrics rotations. With diagnostic essentials, getting through diseases just gets a lot easier, and with therapeutical answers, it just builds good doctors. I specially liked the chapter on antimicrobials and vaccines, so essential in pediatric care. Definitely a must have for a good medical student with lot to learn and too little time (at the end, that's what medicine is all about). All my medschool classmates just wanted to have my book.

CURRENT Medical Diagnosis and Treatment 2010, Forty-Ninth Edition (LANGE CURRENT Series) Review

CURRENT Medical Diagnosis and Treatment 2010, Forty-Ninth Edition (LANGE CURRENT Series)
Average Reviews:

I basically agree with all the reviews of this book. However, I would strongly NOT recommend the KINDLE version of this text. The ability to search the text is very poor. Most text searches require very precise wording to locate an item of interest and will generally find the first occurrence not the primary entry that the paperback index references.
The only option is therefore to start at the beginning of a relevant chapter and troll through trying to find the reference you're looking for. Hardly helpful in a book that averaged around 2000 pages.
Get the paperback version. Kindle reference texts aren't usable. Perhaps iPad will do it better.....
