Concepts of Physical Fitness: Active Lifestyles for Wellness Review

I ordered the book and i checked my email three days later and had 3 emails from Amazon (IN THIS ORDER,from recent to latest): one saying that i had purchased the book, the second saying that my money had been refunded and put back on my card...and the third email saying that the book was sent and will arrive shortly. So i was very confused at what that all meant and if the book was even coming or not. I don't think the seller was checking back on their amazon page changing their stock count of the book, and realized they didn't have any left AFTER I put my order in for it.

Other then the condition it was in, it really helped to see that with the photo available online atteached to the textbook, it really was a factor for me determining if I was goint to purchase the textbook needed. If more customers would include an image with the condition of the murchandise being sold demonstrated there would be alot more items sold and satisfied returning customers to purchase more products from amazon.com.

Supply Management Review

Supply Management
Average Reviews:

This is the textbook that every Purchasing professional must have on the shelf. It is written by the gurus in the field that helped to define the profession and set standards by developing the professional certification requirements.
The book establishes common language to describe Purchasing core processes that are applicable across industry and organizational lines. Because of the common language it establishes it can be really helpfull for someone who has been in a single industry or organization for some time that wants to transition to another industry but only knows the terms from their previos field.
For example someone involved in government procurement wishing to transition to the private sector might find the book usefull. Furthermore, it is written in the same language as appears on the NAPM APP and CPM examinations.
I have used the book both in a Purchasing Masters Degree Program at St Marys College in California and also in a Purchasing Certificate Program offered by the University of Phoenix and the material and cases are always well received by the students. The cases in particular are good and provide a common ground for people who have used the book.
There are some other books out there and new gurus are emerging but for now this is still the best.
William J. Kohnen Instructor University of Phoenix

Need to learn about the clathrin triskelion? It's in here. This book goes well above and beyond what I learned in Cell Bio and is amazingly concise in its consolidation. Will definitely be a welcome necessity for med and phys studies.

Giving students a needed ally in learning the difficult concepts in cell biology and histology is the single goal of this concise text. In typical "Basic Concepts" fashion, the subject is treated with maximum emphasis on demystifying basic science topics using analogy, charts and algorithms, clinical examples, mnemonics and other proven teaching methods. Organized from simple to more complicated concepts, students will enjoy the uniquely lucid review of cell biology including cell membranes, intracellular trafficking, signal conduction, mitosis and meiosis, cell motility, and more. Histology is also reviews, starting with epithelium and junctional complexes, connective tissue, muscle, and a system-by-system review of cell structure.

This book is strongly recommended in the education for medical students in the University of Lund. That's why I read it. It's perfect as a startup book for your pre-clin medical studies. It's not deep enough in the physiology part (although anatomy and especially histology is very good) but the integrated approach is really terrific and it makes you understand in a whole new way. If you want to become a good doctor, you should absolutely buy this book, or borrow it a least in your library. The first integrated anatomy & physiology book I've read that's deep enough for medical students. Good work Seeley.

Hole's Essentials of Human Anatomy and Physiology. Review

Hole's Essentials of Human Anatomy and Physiology.
Average Reviews:

I studied this book for my college anatomy and physiology class. Of course, you need this book to study--without it I would have been lost. There is so much information in this book, makes anatomy and physiology a little easier to learn.
Other recommenations:
I also used Martini's Anatomy and Physiology Textbook as an additonal source. This book filled in the gaps, pictures/digarams were excellent.
Also, Leonardi's, "Anatomy and Phsiology Study Guide: Key Review Questions and Answers with Explanations volumes 1, 2 & 3. The question were comparable to the kind I saw on my college exams...

I have to use this book for Human Anatomy and it is great the detail put into the book. If you buy it new from the publisher it even comes with a CD and a thinner, helpful spiral bound book that contains all of the diagrams.

Anatomy & Physiology with Integrated Study Guide Review

Anatomy and Physiology with Integrated Study Guide
Average Reviews:

Words like "shallow" and "superficial" do not begin to express how poor this textbook is. You will finish the semester knowing little more about A&P than you did at the start. Also, it has no CD-ROM included now. And there's no website resources, either.
Be aware that this PAPERBACK text is *poorly* constructed. My brand-new copy, bought at full retail price, literally fell apart when first opened; and one classmate found entire sections just plain missing from her copy. Check your copy carefully when you first receive it. Hopefully, it will last long enough to sell at semester's end, and you can forget you ever took the course.

Essentials of Life-Span Development Review

Essentials of Life-Span Development
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This book uses simplistic language to explain various theories and studies about human development. This is achieved through the works of Freud, Erikson, Piaget,Vygotsky, and others. The various theories presented focus on biological, physiological, and sociological development during early, middle, and late stages of life for infants, children, adolescents, and adults. Throughout the book the continuing debate between nature and nurture as having ultimate control over human development is presented.

This is an excellent textbook for first year nursing, allied health, or biology students in college. The material is organized and well-written; concepts are so easy to follow and understand. Very little, if any, background knowledge is required to follow the concepts in each chapter. Overall, an excellent textbook for learning the complexities of the human body, and it will also provide any student with a solid foundation in anatomy & physiology for graduate studies. Schaum's Outline of Human Anatomy and Physiology Review

Schaum's Outline of Human Anatomy and Physiology
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This book is great if you don't like reading long textbooks. It's easy to read and makes Anatomy and Physiology more interesting. I was recommended this book from a friend who used this book and another study guide and got over a 90 average. The other two books I highly recommend are the following:
Anatomy and Physiology Study Guide: Key Review Questions and Answers (Vol 1) ISBN: 0971999619
Anatomy and Physiology Study Guide: Key Review Questions and Answers (Vol 2) ISBN: 0971999627
The last two study guide showed me the kind of questions I saw on my college exams. My friend was right. I used these 3 books and also got an "A" in my college A and P class.
